The report's a little late as I've been a busy boy around the house earning a few brownie pionts from the wife lol
Target species was sole, my usual spot in front of county hall Swansea. I wouldn't normally set out to catch sole so early in the season, but I read a report from the other side of channel and he had caught a few fish so I thought why not.
The sun was out and there was a lot of people walking the beach, so if your into quite sorts of venue's this ones not for you.
First hour went by without a qiver on the rod tips, an hour and twenty minutes into the session and the famillar slow nodding bite of a dogfish showed on the tip of the T800, another 5 came in before a much more ratterly and determined bite showed on the TTSM ld. It was twenty past nine and as I reeled the fish in I was pretty sure it wasn't a dog as it was staying deep. I wasn't totally sure till it broke surface but I suspected my target fish was comming ashore. A broad grin filled my face as the first sole of 2025 was swung in, the fish was weighed later at 1 1/4 lb not bad for a starter.
The last hours were quite with just one more dog though Barry alongside me had a nice bass to break up his date with a few dogs.
Tight lines ladies and gent's, no piont in having gear if it stays in the shed or were ever, get out there, soak up the vista and enjoy the fresh air.
