29lb 2oz cod taken from a Scarborough shore mark a few nights ago by Dave Anderson.

Tremendous cod for any decade, outstanding for this day and age! Good to know that a proper cod actually existed south of Muckle Flugga. Its as near as barren on the W coast

I would also suggest that in the first picture it is very dead.

I saw the photos the day after it had been caught !but kept it under my hat.

You can bet that Scarbados North beach was rammed after that .

Great fish , and well done Dave , tbh it could have fallen to anybody , but you have to be there to catch it as it passes.

There was a big sea running yesterday even though there was no wind. There must have been a good blow further north. It's dropped off a bit today but still looks good for a cod or two. I always thought a couple of weeks either side of Christmas was the best time for a big fish.

Been up to Seaham today to North Gare.
Not bad at Hartlepool Headland marinas but the piers took a battering.
