Thought M4GT is 225gram and my T900's are 200grams.
6 and 8 are the stiffness ratings mate. But if you want to use 8oz leads on the M4 GT go for it. (y)

Interesting, not heard of this rating before, assume the profiles will be a 4 on this rating ? If that is correct the M4GT'S would sit perfectly in the middle of them.

Profile GT a 5, Profile Evo 6.

Surprised at that as I thought the M4GT'S were a much more powerful rod than the profile. It's the evo's I have and I only use 150 grams on them most of the time although they will handle 170 no problem and if I need more than that I use the nines.

Carbon tipped rods have a bit more poke than Glass tipped ones.

Loads of fishermen use the m4gt for skate fishing and handle them quite nicely . Me personally I’d want something a bit more powerful like a komp ss

Suspect if it was all you had it would cope with most things one way or another same could not be said of some of the heavy weights excepting the txl gt maybe.
My favourite beachcaster. Like rocking horse shit now.

Had quest for a standard zeteque gt a while back but could not find at the time but could still fancy a standard, watched a lad drag a maybe 4lb ish codling up a cliff using the txl gt and that glass tip was quite amazing but a little scary when not used to seeing it bend at work lifting, very nice!

I’ve lifted plenty of hefty fish up piers with my txl gt

The reality is that the t900 is not at all fragile....
If I was subjecting a rod to some serious abuse I would choose the T9.
If you want a nice all-rounder then the m4gt will do it all but in my opinion they do not like the heavy stuff.

Last year, acquired a pair of the later run of original m4gts, second hand. Lovely bite detection but really cut into my casting distance having become more familiar with longer, stiffer rods such as the verets I was also using. Got rid of the m4gts and still have the verets which tend to cope with bigger leads and a wider range of conditions.

Ive just ordered a new profile evo blank.
Although not the m4gt.
Once built I'll let you know if the Century built rods are the same as the original that I had.
As that seems to be the concern

I've got a pair of profile evo's and love them on my local beaches in west Sussex, although I'm still getting used to them as they are very soft in the butt compared to my other rods T900 eliminators. Only had them about a month but have used them at least a dozen times and had eels, hounds, dogs, plaice, thornback and bream.

I have not long purchased a pair of profile gt’s and still getting used to them! Similar rating to my other rods the T800 but worlds apart action and feel wise
