Mackrel feathers which ones

Looking to pick up a few Mackrell feathers, there's a lot of choice and range but was looking to see if anyone can recommend any that are decent please 🙏
I always get 4-5 sets of these every year.
I’m not out to catch thousands! Just a few for bait and the table.
They do ok

Brilliant thanks. Will order some of those next time I put an order in

Make your own! If the Mackerel are on the feed, you can pretty much catch them on bare hooks. Strips of crisp packet and allsorts will work.
Personally, I find it more sporting to use a single lure (SG Seeker or similar) on a spinning rod.
Troj in Guernsey swears by feathers or lures made using cable sleeving or neoprene tubing:

You could also ask our very own Kev @kevothefish if he's got any - his rigs are great.

Yes those work fairly well although I don’t find them the most robust, but they certainly work okay.

I normally use these, catch okay and last for ages…

Other suppliers and brands are available, but they’re all the same thing

Everyone seems to catch a few when we’re out and we’re all using different feathers aren’t we

Get some sabikis and big shiny ones the maks can be locked onto one thing.
Me and @Chalton were on hayling bassing a couple of years ago and a young lad was ripping mackerel out on a sandeel shaped feather me n chalton could not get any!!!.
So I resorted to begging and he gave us a few!.

Sadly no profit in feathers. I do occasionally tie long range versions for some of my big casting friends with 100lb rig bodies and only 3 feathers - they can whack them out to close on 200 yards but buggered if I wish to reel in mackerel from that distance :)

Charter skipper in Saundersfoot swears by these, £1.99 postage so 10 for£11.89.

How much !!! I get mine for for under a fiver for 10 packs of 5 + postage of course.(y)

Yes, usually doesn’t really make much difference from what I see.
The only ones I binned off completely were the old style chicken feather ones, a few years after I started out, because the modern tinsel/flasher ones seemed to work much better.

The chicken feather ones did work better if you trimmed the feathers to a more realistic bait fish size, I found, but tbh it was/is easier just to buy the plastic ones.

Mind you, I still caught plenty on chicken feathers too.

White chicken feathers can be deadly on Chesil when the maks are on the fry....

That makes sense although when they’re in a frenzy on Chesil I’ve found pretty much anything works 😂

Grabbed 15 for bait in about five minutes one evening when they were thrashing about in the surf a few feet out.
I didn’t even cast, just did a sideways flick, although not easy with a multi but that was the rod I had to hand, so just unclipped the bait trace and clipped feathers on

I prefer "daylight lures" but with a lot more colour than the Fladen pictured earlier.
used to buy them in bulk at Trago along with mile spools of penn line
