South Coast Inspiration Of 2020 ......... What Did I Learn

Good informative read young man,top job,on the fly fishing story some 15 years back i was mulleting with float on the river arun using a porky pig near the Ship & Anchor pub pontoon when a guy came up and asked if he could fish near me as it was his hot spot to which i was happy with as long as he stayed quiet. He then set up a fly rig and started hitting the same spot each time near the pontoons, within 1 hour he caught seven decent size to my one 3 pounder,i then gave up and just sat in the warm sun watching him, first time i`d seen mullet pulled on the fly and what a fight they put up so if you get a chance give it a try...i never did and still regret it but i`m too old and broken now to change my ways but if you can find the right spot it will could be one hell of an experience...Alan
Thank you so much Alan. last year I tried so hard to catch a mullet on fly, they are one of the best fighting fish lb for lb, can only imagine what it us be like on the fly after a taster with catching the Bass. I sorry you never got the chance and have regret later. I guess its why I am chasing so many disciplines. this year I intend to focus on the bass and mullet.

I wish you good health for 21 and very tight line when you manage to get out mate.

Cheers

Gavin

Great post Mukiwa, I was super intrigued to hear you mention the moon setting and rising. There was a thread not long ago about the solunar aspects of angling and I was wondering if anyone had made note of those things. Thanks for sharing your thoughts for the year (y)

Thank you so much Tim. Glad you enjoyed the read.

Some of the times I went out, it was fun but didnt take notice of it too much, but it was so clear, while I loved being out it seemed so lifeless, soon as it was setting like the sun, 9the fish came on.

Thought it was just a coincidence, but it was happening to often, to the point I knew i would go fishing to wait till it set, enjoying barbeque before the moon set.

Tight lines mate
