I caught a couple of gar yesterday, they are back after a long absence; one normal size of about 40cm and one a lot bigger at 1lb 3oz and 67cm long. It was a bit of a tussle landing that one.
There was a small shoal of pilchard which I haven't until now, perhaps the two events are related and the gar are following the pilchard shoals
