South Coast Ford Open Results today 2024

Well once again a big thank you to all who turned out today for our Beach Comp, held at Weston Shore Southampton.

Despite 82 Anglers turning out, nobody booked the fish and unfortunately only 4 people Weighed in, with 1 Flounder each.

Ok so the Results were.

1st. A Taylor from Alresford with 1lb 7 3/4oz. Flounder.
(sorry I didn't get your first name) What a day, over twenty years fishing this comp and first result,
first prize £400, Heaviest Fish pool £144 and Red Zone Winner £72
£616 total prize money.

2nd. Mr Davies, 1lb 01oz Flounder. £200.

Joint 3rd.
Simon Abres. Elmore Angling Club.
Craig Thompson, Eastney. Both Picked from the prize Table. Both had Flounder 15oz.

Unfortunately there was no result for the White Zone pool, and so the Chosen Charity will receive this on top of all other monies,
this will give Rose road, over £1000.

Nothing new about the decline of Flounder fishing on South Coast but, agreed Charity money bonus.

Pot Bait/Seals/Trawlers/Bass Nursery areas, funny how Pompey/Poole/Southampton areas been affected badly over the years!!.

Agree, but it shows that of 82 pegs, only 4 caught ,which is not a good omen for Solent fishing.
