What's the best measured cast you've done? Mines 230 yards.

Mine was was far more, cast a float in the river and lost sight of it when it drifted down stream and out the estuary, must of been a quarter of a mile. :ROFLMAO:?????

While not wanting piss on you casting prowess... nice cast! I am usually happy if it gets the bait to whet the fish are :ROFLMAO: most of the time all that happened was my bait was ravaged by crabs or my sinker caught up in rocks and got ripped off :ROFLMAO:

did a fair bit of casting once over only with multi though keep meaning to have a go but never get round to it only been using fixed spool for a few years mainly use them for heavy ground work so no need to cast far from the rocks
I also use multi except for river fishing when the small coffee grinder is used.

I've measured my casts with either GPS or by using multi colour braid.

Managed 155m, so approx 170yards with an otg cast with my t800, ci4 14k, 5oz and 30lb agepoch braid. I've measured the colour changes and it's pretty accurate.

I cast, wind down tight. Then count using turns of the handle and the number of colour changes.

Shame I can't get close to this when fishing haha, bait. Rigs etc seriously reduce range.

Codsucker did his distance with a fixed spool reel which he didn't mention with a 6 oz lead and .35mm line

Nice, think the Agepoch is more like 0.28mm so a fair bit thinner than 0.35mm mono. But I am not a great caster, the 155m cast was during a casting lesson.

I think i would have managed well plus 200 yds first cast once on arriving with rod already set up and 2oz weight and bang, snap off, ha nearly lost sight of it.
Checked line and it was rough, must have had a little weak spot, never had spare spool. so end of session, good job no one else there as would have looked a right dilly.
