So a few of us tooled down to plymouth for our long awaited wrecking trip. We rocked up Friday evening ready to go out at 6am Saturday morning. We got a call from malc (sea angler 2) to say its looking choppy so we're due to go out at 7.30 rather than 6. Few beers in town then. Lots of funny looking buggers in cities
. After a big rushed breakfast we met malcolm and his mate rob who told us wrecking was off due to the gales that were on their in. So we headed to eddystone lighthouse to pick up live bait then mooch around the rocky outcrops and reefs. We bagged a bunch of Launce pretty quickly so hopes we're high.
That soon changed. Reef after reef, rock after rock malc kept trying all day. We used live bait, every type of lure/shad, frozen baits, muppets but couldn't tempt any decent fish. Between the 7 of us there were 2 or 3 pollack all around 4/5lb several small whiting a very pretty rainbow wrasse and that was pretty much it. The boat was rocking like a good un. A few of the boys spent the day throwing up. But the sun was shining, the tea was good and a great day was had by all. Especially the fish, that avoided all the hooks. Bastards.
