Went a bit nuts last nightF57C0B8F-86D8-4D7D-8192-7A5565801CD9.jpeg4B7C9294-08A8-40ED-8689-95717D11ABA1.jpeg03E76EC0-4B22-40A1-9847-C41BDFCF1A47.jpeg9698DAE6-5A20-40E8-9015-D43126234C21.jpegCDF78555-222E-49BE-B6F4-9D3CAE48BCAA.jpeg0B84D931-445E-4508-BE0F-B003272209B5.jpegat 11pm, I’d had 5 and the boy hadn’t had any more, so as I was contemplating keeping my rods in, I actually switched swims with him, so he could get in on the action. Shifting rods, reels bed chairs and bivvies! He promptly went and nailed it… D6B5C51D-66BE-4BFB-99B9-C13AF83E9F19.jpeg21lb 2oz. A great fish for this pond that the average is low doubles.

The wife and I have booked a few days camping which has several carp ponds and wifey said I should pack some rods with me. Unfortunately, my usual carp gear won’t fit in the car with two kids, all the camping gear and a pregnant wife to shoehorn in, so I treated myself to a pair of Kodex 9ft 2.75tc rods which will fit perfectly in the boot. Paired with a pair of shimano baitrunners and a pair of old nash siren alarms with lil bobbins, they, with a landing net, unhooking mat, tackle bag and bait bucket all slot into the boot lovely.

I had a quick go playing a fish on them, it will take a bit of getting used to, they are like wands!

Done a couple of nights last week at the 80 acre. 4 seasons of weather. Quite slow but had a couple in the end all commons apart from this 16 mirror which was the biggest aswell .
No lumps showed up this time but was lovely and quiet with lots of nature on the estuary behind and lizards crawling about when it wasn't raining!

The Robin loved live shrimps that were in the net by the 100 when you netted a fish , bring in tonnes of them and they flip around on the bank , the Robin took full advantage . I guess its worked out that little technique now ?

Nice write up H1 L2, even if you was Puddle Dipping! Lovely photos, especially Mr/Mrs Robin! ??

Quick overnighter last night at my favourite pit, got there at 6pm, gone by 10am. Rather chilly last night, phone said 7c, cold north wind hacking across the pit, a few lads had set up in the teeth of it and had nothing, (it’s been fishing slow recently anyway) so I drove round to the back of the wind and found a few rolling off the back of the wind. So quickly dumped the kit, stuck the car in the car park and ran back to the swim to set up. 5B05ED5C-3479-49F6-8F2C-76AC70E5D8EC.jpegWatching the sun set over the countryside 85A465C2-35A0-478C-9E46-033FCDC4E3A9.jpegthe night was quiet, a few liners, but the fish seemed to be keeping a low profile. I was up just before dawn after a blank night and saw a few carp head and shouldering in the same spot, so I dropped a 6 bait stringer on them and went back to bed. 45mins later it was away. 7700705C-13F1-4956-B061-11A5CF1C1811.jpegNot massive at just over 16lb, but happy with that. After a chat with the bailiff & his son, i wended my way home, took the wifey to Hythe and hired a rowing boat down the royal military canal. (Even spooked a carp in the reeds as well as a few jack pike) quite fancying a trip or two down there now!

Nice report Ouchy! ??

Nice one..looks like the water levels down a lot ? And yes the canal has plenty of carp in . Few big orange ones even!

Has this thread become the official tsf carp thread?
After my attempt yesterday I plan on a few more go’s in the next few weeks, I’ll post my results on here and any questions I find need answering…. Like…..

Do I really need a spod thingy?? I was just using feeders and pva bags yesterday

I spomb 100% of the time, granted using feeders/bags i think you can get a quicker bite, however using a tight spread of bait with a spomb/spod the fish compete and become easier to catch…..

Yeah water level is down a fair bit, where the rods are set up, I’d expect to be submerged. They aren’t as low as other places though, we’ve been lucky in that respect.

I spod 0% of the time! Lol! The method has to suit the lake and conditions and spodding on my waters usually means the kiss of death.
