Fished 4 hours in the darkness last night. HW 0200 ish 5.9 mtr tide. Bitterly cold with rain & sleet and the wind from the north west. Hard session for both us as I haven't set up in the dark for years and my fishing mate had never done it before. Two rods each with fresh black lug , clams and razor . My mate had a decent size flounder early on and I thought we were in for a good session. Loads of knocks that never developed all night and the end result for me was a very small flounder that took black lug longer than it was. Bites dropped off completely about an hour before HW so we packed up early just as another sleety rain squall passed through. The slog back to the cars across the soft sand was hard going and I'm pleased my car has heated seats and steering wheel.
