Hello from the land of Prince bishops sorry for the late report from yesterday on the boat.
Set off at 7am not knowing what awaited us outside the harbour round the corner as there was a bit of a breeze, sea state wasn't to bad, only 2 of us on the boat so Alan went into hyper speed 32 knots. Got down to skinningrove in a crack. First drop using a red head shad on my 10-15 lb ugly stick kayak rod, wallop straight into a 2lb codling great start we all thought. Nothing after and I mean nothing, we tried baited daylights with squid and fresh rag rippers different coloured shads you name it nothing then the wind got up?. We went right inside in about 30ft of water still nothing.we were sheltered from the wind till about 11.30 when it dropped off. The skipper decided we'd go to the ling ground 170 ft this time and guess what nothing again there wasn't even any whiting about, none in fact then about 13.30 we went mid water 80ft started picking a few codling up all around the 2lb mark I had 8 and kept 2 for the dogs tea. The skipper kept 1 of 5 and my mate Ian had 4 which he kept the highlight of the day was a pod of dolphins around 100 went straight passed us towards Hartlepool jumping and spinning showing off I couldn't video or take pics as I left my phone in the car glove box. But got Ian to send a few pics of them
. It wasn't a bad day but I've had better till the next trip have fun.
