Have any of you guys used.

BERKLEY GULP GEL or

GOBBLE BAIT STICKY

Baits scents. Not used any scents before and they are supposed to encourage bites. Can be used on lures/soft plastics and you can coat baits. Welcome your views and comments.
Cheers. Mac

Another gimmick I reckon.

I’ve never really used additives - as you say, to my mind it’s mostly a gimmick.

Also, you never really seem to read successful accounts on forums of it working, unless from people trying to sell the stuff…
All I see when fishing is catching sfa on imitation crabs & worms. You can't beat the real thing as they say ;)

Have used scents when pike dead baiting, usually inject the oil into the bait using a bait syringe- can't say if its made it more successful or not as haven't fished with 1 rod with scent and 1 rod without side by side.

I do have a few different ones left and may try them from the shore at some point

I remember 30 odd years ago, there was a "bait enhancer" either Sardine or Anchovy Oil based, 6 plastic snap top tubes in a silver & red foil packet ?
I bought some but can't remember it working all that well, equally I can remember people who swore by spraying bait & lures with WD40 as a supposed attractant.

I know a mate used to put pilchard oil or similar on ray baits and he always caught more ray, but then he was a big caster too, so not really conclusive.

I do know it bloody stank, lol

I've mentioned before that a mate of mine (RIP Jim) started importing some stuff from Australia called Glowbait. It had a luminous green glow to it in the water, and a strong Aniseed scent. He found it worked very well, and sold loads of it. Still advertised in Australia I believe.

Here ya go:

Just spoke to a commercial angler who has been testing Gobble Sticky BM 3.8 on his boat. This was when jigging for cod in Northern Norway using plastic worms.
Improvement was different from day to day, varying from 10-15% more on a bad day up to twice as much on the Gobble on other days.
Here is one example on their catch with and without Gobble:
