We stayed at Seaton a few years ago, and i had not been sea fishing since i got married.
I had a reel i got the previous year to take to Bude (where my daughter broke reel and so got better one to replace) and i went to town and bought spinning rod which fitted across boot shelf in Escort, when closing boot/hatch
it trapped the end of the rod and broke it. Thought that was a waste of time, anyway went to West Bay and shop there fitted new one.
Walked to Seaton beach and on road at top wife said looks like no one here, went on beach and it was chocker (you could not see them from road, found space towards left end spoke to a couple and both said nothing happening,
first cast out good size mackerel, and then a couple more, only 2 other people caught in the hour i was there.
