South West A bit slow

Great report and pics there Mr Fish, well done on the Wrasse, unfortunately like you say some times they dont go back cleanly.
You ever tried pebbles as throw a way sinkers, ive been using them on the breakwater as its ruddy snagy where I fish, lots cheaper than leads but a bit bulking carrying is the only thing.
Cheers Bob and yes I have done it, but I found the best way was to make a little cage of chicken wire or similar and put the pebbles in that.
Tying line around them isn’t very secure and don’t want to add even more plastic to the sea.
Not going to spend ages drilling them, I’d rather buy the damn things!

But the short answer is I haven’t got around to collecting more pebbles or buying more wire mesh yet.
Also you’re right, very bulky, need about a carrier bag full for a session lol

Just a thought - what about that tubular finger gauze instead of wire mesh? Tie a knot in it, pop yer pebble in, and tie another knot with a split ring or similar to clip onto yer rig bottom? Just snip it off to length.

Old tights are easier than chicken wire, you can e\/en use wet sand then

That might work? I suppose cotton would ultimately be biodegradable?

True, but would the material degrade and would it be safe for wildlife?
My thinking was wire would corrode away pretty quickly in salt water?

Not that I have access to any old tights ?
Just ask a passer by in the street. I'm sure they won't mind as long as you're polite

Good effort fish lovely wrasse bey wot do recon the other bite was big wrasse or something else ??? Nice to see boobies aswell ??
But was Boobies of the Human type or of the Capra Hircus Variety??? a @Mr Fish Speciality Neatly tucked away wandering freely in the mountains of North Devon?

Dry stones and some gorilla super glue then glue a loop/something to stone that can attach to rig once finished leave them there.

That gorilla super glue is tough used it to repair many things and not failed like some glues! it has some flex in that stuff which is better.
It is good glue but I'd be still inclined to use a bit of caution especially if you got it back for a second cast. Like anything though, in the hands of idiots it could be lethal

you gather some up glue them while using other leads! then once set use them and not going to be Tournament casting with them just rotten bottom fishing!
