Not much to write about last night, absolutely stunning evening with glassy like conditions. Cycled through a few favourites during the last of daylight but it was very quiet, high water had been and gone and it wasn’t until over an hour into the flood I had the first bit of action. Working a patch 125 ish across the surface I was kinda taken by surprise when my lure was halted in its travels, even more so by the couple of strong head shakes as the attacker took some line off the reel, but as quickly as all this had happened it was just as quickly over as whatever had taken a liking to the lure had gone ☹
I cast out again and as the lure works around under the moonlight sky I feel another take and see an eruption of water where my lure must be, but seconds and it’s gone and another missed. Reeling in I actually check the hooks on my patch to make sure it has two sets! ?
Eventually thoua short while later I do hook into another and this time after a spirited little account of itself the blank is at least beaten. Quick pic and released to grow a little bigger.
Although I fished on for another hour that was it for the night, not even a couple of lure changes could entice any further interest and decided to call an end to the session shortly after 11pm.
