i set a rod up and left kit at top of beach for a bit, as i know how the surf herre can run up the beach, later pitching bivvy above the storm line and donning my floaty which was epic.
had let floaty rinse in the rain after last trip because it hummed, i needed it dry in a hurry as i was going to put it away so in the tunbley it went. bloody lineing shrank and i had hell of a game getting it on, had to loose one layer then it still felt skintight and weird. tis pretty old n hard used anyway but now it has to go.
ah yes, fishing, i caught a pout first cast which is either promising or unlucky depending on your veiw of life , cup half full/empty type of thing. followed that with a few more and missed some better bites which came back with twisted rigs, telling me of eels .
i was glad the tide was riseing as it gave less of a march from rods back to bivvy or down to surfline to cast. keeps me fitter though i guess.
sadly no great tales of interesting bigfish captures, sporradic pout, occasional dogfish. a bootlace eel , and managed a babe small eyed ray towards lowwater in the early hours i gave up about 6am as out of bait and enthusiasm.
