As the title suggests I headed to shoreham after work yesterday. I fished 1 up and 3 down in the hope of a plaice.
I fished a couple of hundred yards away from the west arm in the hope of a bit of shelter from the easterly wind which as the session went on turned north east.
I fished 2 hook loop rigs on both rods and bait was frozen blacks and squid.
First rod had a rattle as I baited the second rod so after casting that rod I wound in the first to find the target attached, only small at 31cm. Returned the fish and look up to see line slack on the other rod so wound that in to find another plaice of identical size. The next hour was pretty quiet as the ebb started and tidal pull was quite strong. As the tide pull eased the bites came again. First a small flounder and then a smooth hound pup which was quickly followed by 2 plaice in 2 casts . One at 30cm and the other 29cm. Another quiet spell came of about an hour which was halted by a much better bite and the best fish of the session came up the shingle at 37cm. 2 more plaice came up the shingle as the sun was setting to end quite a productive few hours for and I was well happy.

At least you didn't have to give Reg your hard earned money to blank on the arm(y)

Nice session. Would have been a fantastic session if they’d all been over 35cm but they do seem to be scarce these last 3 years. Maybe as they approach that size sees them getting caught in the nets.

Nice report & photos Emmcee. Nice haul of Plaice even if they weren't all of the size hoped for. 🎣🎣👍👍
