Hi,can anyone recommend me a rod suitable for float fishing and bombarda fishing? Or will I need 2 rods. Thanks in advance.
 
I'd go for a 10ft rod minimum. What sort of casting weight (float, lead and lure/s) ?
 
Seatrouters in Denmark have this technique mastered. Check out some of the relevant forums 👍Comparatively soft actioned rods around 10.5ft seem favourite and many will avoid braid in favour of mono.

I've thought about trying Bombarda floats but not got around to it. One of the guys in Cornwall put up a couple of good Youtube videos about Bombarda floats a few years ago.

I've bought one of these (108m+) for the forthcoming season. Intended for use in the surf, lobbing savage gear seekers and sandeel imitations to reefs 80 yards out. I also reckon it would be ideal for float and bombarda applications.

Only supposition as I've not yet used it, but giving it a good "waggle" I can see it being a very versatile tool.
 
I have a Major Craft Tidrift 10’ 10-45g I use with a Bombarda setup and lures, will also cast a float if and when required. Has a lovely medium-fast action on it and very light given its length.

I have a 12ft 2.5 TC carp rod would that be ok? Also 10ft 40g spin rod would it be ok for float fishing?

I've got the 7/35 gram in 9ft6in and the 10/45 gram in same length but not used that one as I love the lighter rod for lures and bombarder with flies for bass,sea trout, trout and have float fished with it for chub.PXL_20230327_180727870.jpgPXL_20230328_215704168.jpg
