Went to Cogden on Wednesday/Thursday in pursuit of the elusive Lesser Spotted Dogfish. On Wednesday I used coloured beads and attractors in the daytime, with a size two hook and fresh Black. Craftily swopped to a squid/sandeel combo and a 4/0 pennel up and over into the darkness. Fantastic result of nine dogfish. Changed back to the beads and small hooks in the daytime on Thursday. It proved a killer combination, allowing me to land nineteen more dogfish by dusk. Back of the net!
As I trudged, pleased but weary, up the hill to the car I spared a thought for all the poor sods fishing for Plaice and Rays. I didn't see any of them catch a single target species...
