Hello all.
I will try not to close my browser and delete my report this time...
Last week I decided to hit the Jurassic Coast in search of 4 things... FISH, food, the Milky Way and most importantly, peace and quiet. Ok that's 5 things but you get the point...
Day 1 took me to Chapman's Pool where I spent 2 hours not catching a thing. I arrived at 10pm ish and fished through the weed before heading back to the van.
At 1:30am I then headed down to Winspit Quarry to try and capture the Milky Way. I opted for quantity over quality so they're not my finest images, but a beautiful evening none the less.
I bumped into a couple of chaps from Wales who were fishing the quarry, they had caught mainly eels.
I then headed back to the van and after 4 hours sleep, made the long walk down to Hedbury Quarry where I would spend the day and night lure fishing for anything that swims. I was rewarded with non stop action from start to finish. Bass and wrasse smashing the lures at every opportunity, before I switched to a spinner and found some mackerel, the biggest of which, I kept and cooked with some freshly foraged wild garlic and sea beet, or also known as sea spinach.
The following morning was quiet, but I didn't care... What an epic few nights on such a beautiful section of coast.
My video of the antics can be found here:
I hope you enjoy

Take care.
