Appreciate what you say, but my plan would be to start fishing around dawn, home around 9am I usually get up between 4 and 5 am! So not sure I'll ever get to a retail shop.

Ok so the last time I went beach fishing was about the same time DB released Absolute beginners, and I'm guessing all the fish I used to catch have gone to that big chippy in the sky can I ask some really simple newbie questions, regarding the Brighton to Bournmouth coast. Day time Night time...

Thanks for all the advice guys, think what Im going to do is cobble couple of outfits together with my existing beach and salmon spinning gear and see how that goes.

Would seem the sensible thing to do but my abiding memories of my last sea fishing trips all involve birds nests! What i might do is buy one new fixed spool outfit for distance work, then use either 7HT or the 6500 screwed down tight and one of my current rods as a near shore bass setup...
