I am thinking of selling the above rod not used for 8yrs
The varnish is flaking and one eye has lost its liner plenty of spigot still showing
So any ideas on a price as the rod stands
Or is it worth getting it re built and asking top money

It's a lottery on zziplex prices mate.
Sold my beaten up 50/50s for £100 the pair.
Jax bought a pair, mint condition for £300.
Cost of a rebuild is circa £200 (depending on what needs doing, guides, etc).
Personally I would sell it as is.
Most people (I'm guessing) would want to have a rebuild to their own spec.

They were very much the entry level Zziplex and sold new for less than £280. I'm told there's a mk1 and mk2. I had a mk1 AFAIK but never loved it. It was a reasonable casting tool but the all carbon tip was poor in my own fishing circumstances. Sold it on after a few months and settled on a pair of FZeros which are in a different league for fishing with 5oz over clean sand. I don't know what one would make at auction these days but I'd have thought after fees you might get around £150 if it was mint. There's a Zziplex FB page where those in the know might advise or even buy it at best market price.

Alex just read ur reply again
Two 50/50 for £100 surely not
Seriously battered and abused.
Was the dream cast, not really very popular.

I also sold them for what they were worth.
Given the state they were in and what I had paid for them, I was happy with£100 especially as they went to a friend.
Bear in mind, most of the prices on flea bay are pie in the sky.
Also, something is only worth what someone will pay for it.
