Yes TW , but only in freshwater . Saltwater is a bit too harsh on the agate rings , and salt build up would ruin the patina of the cane .

I have a few vintage cane beach/ pier and boat rods, all carefully preserved and I can virtually guarantee that nobody will be interested in them .
