what are these for
Still have a brand new mould for the Splashdowns and 3 brand new packs of 10 fittings, blue, green and red.I use a Gemini splashdown personally
The lead releases on impact
I used to dip mine in the briny or a bucket filled with sea water. It would firm up the worm and clear any sand.Splash downs are all good unless casting off sand sometimes sand gets into them and doesn’t release on impact with the water
the worrying thing was some agreed with himI think you mean the Bait releases Olly, if the lead released on every cast it would be a tad expensive on sinkers over a year, if you bought them .

I use imps for all my rigs regardless of hook sizes but then I swing the rig for all my casting regardless of distance I want to achieve. From size 6 hooks up to size 5-6/0. They negate the need for breakaway clipped leads. I still use cascade swivels for the hooks above if using multiple hook rigs. If you cast off the ground these aren’t really for you.I attach pic: what are these for ? (I'm getting they are something to do with bait or weight release, but I've no idea really what/how/whether !!)

Agree, especially from places like eBay.Be careful buying knock off imps. Some of them open up as easily as paper clips. I only buy genuine breakaway.
