You can park up near The Cove House Inn at Chesil Cove and fish the cove.Park at the Masonic Car Park over the top and fish the wreck of The Adelaide.Park up at the Visitors Centre and go over the top and fish there or further to the right and fish the Bridging Camp.Usual baits work,Rag,Blacks,Mackerel,Peeler,Squid and Bluey. You can float fish off both Piers,Pleasure and Stone Pier each side of the entrance to the Harbour. You can also venture to Portland and fish the ledges there. The Crane section is productive or you could try the area near The Pulpit Rock. The ledges near the Cafe are productive but only for smaller fish.Mullet are catchable here around the edges of the rocks, you can see them patrolling.Hope you have fun.You can also fish the area where the bridge crosses The Fleet at Wyke Regis, park near the flats if you can,Bass to be had here entering and leaving The Fleet, good ambush spot under the bridge.

Good advice above Whittlers. All I’d add from fishing Portland a fair bit is although it’s a lovely mark and relatively easy access too, I’ve never found the fishing that great.

Small (very) wrasse on ragworm on float with a few small pollack and the odd slightly better one on crab baits, but nothing special.
I don’t know if they’ve been hoovered up for the salmon farms or what but the last three trips have found the wrasse fishing pretty poor.

It’s a nice spot to while away a few hours though and doesn’t really get busy with anglers, which perhaps suggests the locals don’t find it all that, I don’t know?
