I have felt fishing has been a bit like dentistry lately, I have only to be able to pull em out one at a time!.
So spotted the opportunity to skive yesterday afternoon and the sun was out, so quick call to Ben a bit of rag and get down about 3pm.
Lines in about 3.30.
It was bloody lovely sun burning my bonce for the first time this year, brew on collapse on a comfy bit of shingle.
Used my lucky green lead donated by Mr Fish, chucked some rag on some loop rigs gave it a smack and as if by magic got a plaice..... not big but very welcome.
Ben then caught one, at dusk I had a more agressive bite and said to be "that looks like a sole" and it was! again small but incredibly welcome.
As soon as it got dark every hook was covered by straps, pout, whiting and dogs and we ran away from the onslaught, like a russian tank driver from a Ukrainian teenager with a javalin.
Lovely quick session and five flats between us so slowly we are getting there....
Enjoyed it so much we are doing it again tomorrow!.

Fish face....

Nice going. Suns out, warming up what better plaice to be than Chesil. Does seem this year a lot of the plaice are smaller in size than recent years. Still good to see them about though. Next decent set of tides and calm weather and I’ll be giving the Sussex beaches a go.

Well done Pete, target achieved!

Glad the lucky yellow lead is doing the business!
