South West Two marks one day

Popped down to brixam to meet with @bananas sat morning and try and snag a few macs for bait long story short caught loads including a sardine new species for me and cheers to B for identifying it I was convinced it was a herring any hoo had a quick go at lrfing aswell ( feck they hooks are small) but nothing doing so headed home around 10 am . Then went out to a local mark with a mate in the evening pretty much stranded January fishing was trying for rays but only had pout dogs ting and straps until I was packing up one rod when I noticed the other had gone completely slack wound in about 30 yards of line to be met with some solid head shakes ah decent strap I thought arfter a short be solid scrap I rethought and decide it was a bass and sure enough a long lump of silver came thru the break went to pick up my quarry and was shocked to find a very perculier looking bass then it hit me it’s a bloody sea trout never had one before so was chuffed with that good one for the species hunt aswell few pics then off it swam so no a bad days fishing bagged up on bait for the winter fished a new mark and had a couple of new species happy days Huss and wrasse are my next targets cheers ma butes

Brilliant mate!!!!! Could allways say it was a 'spotted pollack"? Lol nice fish!!!
 
I snagged a salmon spinning off the rocks at st Ives targeting Mack's for breakfast. A local watched me and said I needed a licence to fish for them but in any case with a wink he said fry it, don't grill it...lol.

When I hooked one in the estuary once I was already plotting how quickly it could make it from the bank to my seat box ?

Unfortunately it threw the hook ☹️
 
Btw I wouldn’t do that now, this was probably 20 years ago, plus I’m far better educated now on how low local salmon stocks are, so wouldn’t want to take one.
