I'm thinking of starting up again and know most of what I want.

Live in plymouth now so was thinking a twin top being the best value for money to start with. So with 500/600 to spend on a pair I'm looking at

Akios Endurance Pro Max 420 DX
or
BlackRock Foosa 4200 ZZ 2G TT

Has anyone got or used these rods and can tell me if they are suited to the shores around here.

Many Thanks
Paul

Not come across either of those rods Paul, but no doubt someone will have some info.
I'm in Plymouth too, but don't get out much now (health problems) and can't access difficult marks or do long treks any more.

I've got a couple of 4.5 metre Grauvell Vertix Conti rods and find them great for the Pier & Beach marks I do occasionally get to.
Sadly, Grauvell went bust a couple of years ago, but there are still some of their rods on eBay being offered for silly prices.
Somebody local did have a used Penn 16ft beachcaster on Gumtree for £60 but not sure if it sold or not.

As I say just looking and saving atm. But if I do go for it if you fancy a few sessions out let me know. I could use a guide. Only been here 2yrs so need some help with marks and that.

Plus a vast difference to what I'm used to fishing in and around yarmouth.

I'll have to see how my health is, and it wouldn't be until the weather warms up Leigham. I usually go to Mountbatten, or have been known to go out to Beesands, but that's a bit of a hike, and it didn't seem to be fishing very well over the last year.
I wouldn't be much use to you as a guide! I usually need one myself!

Keep half an eye on the local Gumtree - bargains on there occasionally.

Beesands was dire when I fished there! I probably needed a guide too! :ROFLMAO:

I think it was 2021 or 2022 when I was last out there with John. Nothing about on bait, but had 8 decent Mackerel on the lure rod. Put the rod away as I didn't want any more for the freezer. Just take what you need.

I was sat on my seatbox cleaning the Mackerel in a bucket of water before we came home. John said "You're doing such a good job of that, you can do mine too"! 😂😂
