Just a quick session this morning.
I set up just behind the power station at Dungeness and flicked out a 2/0 pennell loaded with a single black lug.
Holding the rod I felt a slight trembling through the braided line, moments later the tip pulled round and a sea rat was landed.
2 casts later the same again, only this time the rat dropped off in the surf.
The next 2 casts drew a blank and the final cast, sent slightly further out, saw the bait stripped.
Looks like I'm going to have to work a bit harder for a fish supper!

Good to get out though and not a blank.

Do you not eat the tings? Better eating than the bass if they are big enough
If they are big enough.
Not seen a "channel"whiting for years.

We get plenty of keepers o\/er this 1lb/11/2 ib fish but I'\/e not seen many bigger thant that for a while now
