South West Sutton harbour hunt

Bananas came down to plymouth yesterday after a 2 spot goby , damm this fish are hard to catch , he failed again .?
But I got 3 new spieces ?.
it was a bit slow in day light but once it started to turn dark the fish came out to play .
after moving a few places we found the fish .
I had about 6 sand goby’s, 4 gold skinnies , 4 black goby’s , a pout .
I gave up on the 2 spot when we could see them but they wasn’t interested in our baits , fresh or jelly worms .
There was a massive school of bait fish in the harbour not sure what they were but nothing chasing them , I did have a big mullet around my bait but he wasn’t interested in that , I wished I had some bread , a few minutes later bob got his bread roll out ?????.

Well done John. Bob told me (in confidence) that he was flicking the V's and waving his bread roll around behind your back! Ha, ha. Pretty sure he said bread roll anyway.

Nice one John on the 3 new ones, was tough trying to get the Two Spot to open its gob wide enough to get a size 22 in it!!.
Not as many as John had but managed two new ones, Sand and painted goby, was a nice but frustrating evening, all to be repeated soon.
As for the bread roll, that was my tea and no fish was going to get its fins on that!!

I was about 10 ft above him on a Harbour wall with the steps 100mts away using 4lb line ???

Hmmm on that basis you are probably right mate! I ledgered some bread on my LRF rod and put it in a sand spike. Next thing the rod tip was near touching the water. It was getting on for 4lb and it took an age to land it, but somehow nothing broke. Heavier line though.

Yes it is , but you could class all of that area as the barbican, I think it got renamed sometime , we still know it as the barbican us locals
