Fished 3:30pm to 9pm. High tide 17:57 / 4.91m. Very slight breeze from the west, water clear and colourless.Given I'd had fish on the flood in daylight from the off I thought I'd use my remaining lug and start a bit earlier in the tide. What a difference a day makes (or a 20cm lower tide, calm clear water and bright winter sun) - no action until after dark when it became quite busy. I thought I'd hooked a monster bass when I was setting up my second rod and the first bounced in the tripod but it was a canoeist who'd caught my line on the way past.Bites were a lot harder to connect with than yesterday when the whiting were managing to trip out leads. Today I missed quite a few bites. I'd say they were small fish but I had size 2s on for a while and still plenty of missed bites.
