Well I finally christened my new rod last night. Got there at 8.00 pm to find the beach well stocked with paddle boarders, dogs and red people. Oh well, got settled and waited. I could hear my worms screaming " drown me now!"
Eventually got going safely as the sun was dipping . Had a fun packed hour or so dragging in weed the size of a healthy chimp then the mosquitoes decided I was on the menu. Lost one load of gear in the weed and began to think about calling it a night then at the top of the tide things calmed, mosquitoes buggered off to where ever mosquitoes bugger off to and fished till midnight with one small sole to show for it.
Must say it was a totally beautiful night . Fish was a bonus.

had pretty much the same the other week, with just micro smuts & a dab, was at 'gordons zigzag'. pleasant beach time but not much in the way of fish .

Yep. Mind you I wasn't expecting much with those tides, just impatient to give the new rod a thrash
