What an insane impromptu session last night!!
A last minute decision saw me setting up at midnight and it was fish from the off. First cast landed a hound of 7lbs 2oz quickly followed by a second of 7lbs 1oz and another at 6lbs 12oz. This was all in the first 20mins!!!
I was exhausted and thankfully just had enough time to pour a coffee in the relentless rain.
No.4 soon followed and was a better fish at 8lbs 4oz, my other ratchet screamed off at the same time of playing that one (a total repeat of the night before!!) and I managed to land this one too, a fat ol’ girl of 9lbs 1oz.
One more moments later of 8lbs 14oz completed the nights tally of 6.
The loss of a 7th decent fish on the breakwater was my signal to call it a night at 2am.... what a crazy 2hr smash and grab!!!

Although they are probably my favourite fish to eat, I don’t keep my shore caught hounds.... my wife won’t eat it, the kids aren’t fussed and I’m too lazy to cook just for myself ?

well done again dude ...iv gotta have a go this weekend youv inspired me ... I'll be the same as you once I get the 1st hound of year I'll go 3 4 times next week probably ?
need to drag myself away from coasre fishing before the weed arrives around our coast grrr!!

usually return them too but when i keep 1 occasionally for uncle the looks you get walking past other anglers is like your carrying a dead human haha ?
