So popped down branscome yesterday evening hopeing for plaice and rays and altho a mate fishing nearby me had a small postage stamp size plaice that was it for spotties fishes till 10 with only two dogfish for my efforts was good to try out the my new rods a pair of gbfs and was starting to get reasonable distance on them but defo need some coaching. Up again at 5 and popped down same mark as last week with my usual fishing buddy well I blanked and I never blank on this mark not even a woofer but it’s early March tides were tiny and there was a stiff eastly blowing so kinda expected my mate had a nice plaice whould have been 2 lb if not so thin and as I sat down to type this he’s gone and had another he’s a spawny bastewerd ??‍♀️Any how I’m knackered but good to see the spots are about hopefully get a good year on them as for my mate he can feck off ??1B54ADCB-2816-4B0C-9C2C-502C5BD82059.jpeg

Perhaps may be catching, not the month :ROFLMAO:

Unlucky bud, seems fishing's a bit poor there as well as over here, hopefully the SW winds will sort it out.

Never mind mate. Come up here when you can and we can see about getting you that double if you want. Might be an eel though!
Double blank on the cards then :ROFLMAO:

If they are thin then what's the point????

It's called fishing not fish mongering, if to thin or small then put them back.
plaice fight well on a beach caster????

They do go back this early in the season may onwads there better and we target them cause there not a lot else about atm in about 2 weeks will start on the rays then hounds then the summer specis will be in then it will be full on chisel time

Seen some clonking spurs up your way atm fish nice 16 lber the other day ???
Hmm, although I suspect that fish was caught earlier than reported. They have a habit of waiting a month before putting reports up!

Not to mention that people are travelling approx 20 miles to fish for them.
Which doesn’t bother me that much but you get slammed online by the covid police for daring to suggest it’s okay to go fishing, meanwhile all the other feckers are just carrying on as normal anyway.

Nice plaice, even if it was not you that caught it!

Yep, there’s loads taking the pee. Slaptpn to chesil is a fair distance!

I am not sure I personally have too much of a problem with people travelling at the moment, seems that only recreational stuff is being demonised, seems some people are expected to travel and work every day sometimes great distances.
There are numerous people who are travelling legally (including myself) many miles and meeting face to face with others, generally we are meeting outdoors and maintaining distances.
Construction is full on in London with 1000s of workers all sharing the same space.
I am beginning to feel that if the government is the beneficiary by means of tax then you are good to go but if you want to go half an hour to the beach then you should be fined and disgraced in public.
I guess in a couple of weeks we will all be on the shingle and that its over.

I wonder it takes Boris longer to cycle 8 miles than it takes me to drive to Chesil??.

Also noticed that local anglers posting big style on FB actually live 40 mins from where they are fishing........ and they are getting plenty of love and guys travelling an hour are getting slammed........

Guys publically travelling and reporting 60 miles apart in two days are no doubt dickheads but I do understand how a man who travels all over Monday to Friday may well find himself on the beach staurday and not feel to bad about it!.

I have been pretty good so far but I am not slamming anyone who gets in their car and drives for a while not interacting with any 3rd parties walks on a beach then goes home again without 3rd party interaction.

If they walk around the local park for a couple of hours the way I see it they will offer more risk than going fishing.

I will continue to be a law abiding citizen for a bit but having done over 1000 miles this week to help put money back into the revenue personally I am weakening!.
