I'd planned to hit the road for an hour and head out to try for some rays last night but ended up leaving later than I'd expected so opted for a local session in Shoreham 5 minutes from my door ... just the 1 rod (I find I fish better with 1 these days, concentrate on it more) a Century Graphex Super Match paired with a Daiwa ST Mag reel loaded with 15lb Berkley Big Game line, rigs were 2 hook clipped down with size 1/0 Varivas saltwater champions on the business end, baiting up the next rig every time I reel in so I'm ready to go if I get a bite, maximising the amount of time I'm in the water so no faffing about between casts ... baits were a mixture of sandeel, crab, mackerel and squid my first cast went out around 7.30pm, wasn't long before the first doggy was on the beach, followed by another, 2 dogs in 2 casts I was beginning to think I'd be plagued by them but a solid pull down resulting in a half decent eel just shy of 7lb and a whiting broke things up a bit before another 2 dogs on my next 2 chucks ... I packed up at 10.30pm and headed home, 3 hours, 6 fish, nothing amazing but all on my doorstep it was nice to get out and be kept busy, all fish lip hooked which is more often the case with the saltwater champion hooks, if you've not tried them out before give them a go ... conditions were easy with no weed to worry about either ... decent tides and weather this week so I'll probably get out again before the weekend, good luck to everyone that's having a go 🎣

Good effort Tommy and right on your doorstep - what’s not to like! Saltwater champs are my go-to hooks in the smaller sizes, prefer more of a round bend in anything over 2/0.

Well done Tommy! Nice report and photos. 🎣🎣👍👍

Bit of Deja Vue - I'd not long read the same report on the other site!

Fish in February,nicely done Tommy.
Thanks mate, I hope you're keeping well ... yeah just fishing for what's there to keep the cobwebs at bay, Plaice during the day are the only realistic chance of anything decent at the moment around here hopefully not long before the night tides improve
Nice report Tommy and a few bites to keep you busy!
Thanks mate

Thanks mate, Yeah the SW champs are best hooks around between 2's and 1/0's in my opinion too, landed some decent fish on them over the years including a 13lb Undulate on a size 2 whilst fishing for bream!
Good session and nice pictures!
Thanks mate

Thanks mate, Yeah thought I'd stick it on both, not posted for a while and used to enjoy writing up reports on wsf back in the day, aim to be posting more reports again this year, missed it in a way and don't get the same BS that you get on the FB groups in my opinion
Great catches ,write up & piccys.👍
Thankyou mate
