I was given a load of rag after my boat trip on Thursday, plus I hadn’t used my rag from my trip to Shingle Street the previous week.

I called Phil and asked if he fancied another trip after soles. He didn’t need asking twice (free bait) so we found ourselves back at Shingle Street last night.

To be honest, we’ve had better sessions, but we did end up with a couple of soles each, all keepers but nothing to get excited about. We were chatting on the way there that the whiting will soon be ruining the sole fishing, but last night it was the pouting’s turn. Three inch pouting hitting the baits the moment they landed nearly all night long. Phil did catch a little bass, but it was the only one. I kept a rod at distance all night again, but nothing at all, not even crabs.

Still, it was a great night to be out and still no weed, which was lovely. We also saw a few meteors which was a bonus.

Well done on the sole's 👍

Well done Conc + Phil! Another nice bunch of Soles for the pan. 🎣🎣👍👍

Not sure if we get them down here. Have never caught one, and not sure if I've tasted one, but love Plaice.
