Its about effective pressure on the fish not the angler. Geometry and physics. Its different again when playing hard running fish that also have stamina. All the skate and big stingray I've caught have been dogged, slugging heavy weights rather than seriously explosive fighters that don't know when to give up ; big flat sharks that can hold bottom and angle againt current really well but not insanely powerful or fast. Out of interest, how big have you had them Goose? Do you know what sort of drag settings you've used?
