When you say you can hear the bearings, do you mean a rattling sound? If so then I'd suggest that the oil you have used is too thin and is not coating all of the bearing.


I have used several types over the years and find some too thin and some too thick. I finally settled on TG Rocket fuel yellow for my 7HT reels as I found the red was a little too sluggish and the tournament stuff they do was way too fast for my casting style.


A good multiplier oil will change viscosity during different phases of the cast, thinning as the spool spins fastest and then thickening as it begins to slow down.


I guess it's all about what suits your style the best.
