Had a go down at seaford buckle car park yesterday - such a nice day! 🌞 got there for an hr before low and straight away the dogs were biting, after the low a bit of a quiet spell but as the tide crept up so the dogs returned, but was rewarded with 2 nice dabs too.
Got to high and no real change so called it a day ready for the delightful drive home 😵‍💫

All fish on fresh blacks up and over rigs.... looks like I should have tried Shoreham

For the regulars who fish seaford, are there any stand out marks along there? Yacht club, tidemills etc

Down by the cafe seems popular on Seaford beach.

Not sure what’s occurring with Seaford, particularly the Buckle/Yacht club area over the last three seasons. The plaice fishing in particular has declined dramatically compared to the years previous, so much so that the only reason I’ll bother to travel there is for reasons of nostalgia, or in the faint hope that the fish may have returned.

It’s been a very productive beach for me in the past, with multiple catches of good sized plaice up to 54cm, most of which have been returned, so certainly hasn’t been depleted on my account. The only difference I have noted was in the underwater terrain, which feels more silty at around 100-120m whereas previously the ground was firmer, more of sand/grit consistency. Can’t think of an obvious reason, or whether this is just my imagination, but there’s no doubt the fishing has suffered a decline.

Anyway, glad you caught a few fish, albeit not what you were targeting, but at least you were rewarded with a couple of decent dabs. Cheers, Bob.
