Hi all.
headed back out last night to the same reef mark that produced the night before, different last night with a bit of an easterly breeze,it did calm down around midnight.
The fishing was much slower than previously, however I did get a fantastic slack liner, retrieving as fast as possible to set the hooks, but no joy..it amazes me that a fish can hit the bait that hard without hooking itself..an hour later same thing, still no joy..
Then another smaller slack liner produced the only cod of the session a plump 2lb13oz codling.
After that not a touch for what seemed a long time then a couple of straps within 5 mins of each other both upwards of 5lb guesstimate.
Codling took a double squid/black
mounted on a 6/0 4/0 pennel dropper...
I didn't stay as long as I had planned and headed back for home
Tight lines.
