Rod bags

When you say Rod Bags Andrew, do you mean a rod holdall for a number of Rods, or individual Rod sleeves?

For a Rod Holdall/Quiver, I'm using s Shakey Agility, which can be extended by 50cm if needed, and also has straps & a pouch for my Salt tripod.

If you're meaning individual rod sleeves, My Conti rods came with padded neoprene bags, but for rods that either didn't have sleeves or were getting worn, I've had some quality ones made by Midwater Luggage. Thoroughly recommend them - good company.

I love my Agility holdall, I did find one still for sale but I think newer versions are on offer now.
I got mine for £30 and part of the reason was the bits are there to attach my Salt tripod and make one package.

Never bother with a holdall for my contis these days
I have two plastic tubes side by side, with support bars between them. The tubes have caps at either end and are waterproof/crush proof so really protect the rods in transit. In addition to this, there are straps to fasten a tripod and brolly to the tubes .

A couple of years ago the value of the above really became obvious when I took a tumble down the mud cliffs on the Yorkshire coast. I slipped down probably 40 feet or so, head over heals, and landed on the tubes a couple of times before ending up on the beach

No damage at all apart from my dignity, which I was not too bothered about as I was lathered in so much mud that I was virtually unrecognisable anyway 🤣🤣🤣.
