Decided to head back to where I had a good session 2 weeks ago on similar tides.
Conditions were breezy and the water was a little more coloured than I would of liked for snoothounds which were the target .
Peeler on one rod and squid close in on the other one .
Weed was horrendous ,I don't think the long rod on crab was presented at all after a few minutes , which I hate being stood there watching it pull downtide and imagining the bait in a tangled ball of weed !!!

The close rod on squid was much less of an issue and seemed to be presented for a good 15 minutes before the build up..
Fishing 20 yards out onto the slope not even in the gutter I had a great pull down and slack bite ... bass here we go I thought . Wasn't though as after a couple seconds I knew it was a ray, to be honest stingray did enter my mind as usually need a decsnt cast to reach the rays here .
5 or 6lbs male came up the beach
.. long story short got weeded out and that turned out to be the only fish .

Nice evening and some cracking birds about in summer outfits before dark ??

Well done on the ray, in spite of the weed.

Well done on the Raymondo H1 L2! Great report and nice photo. ????

That weed is a pain in the arse. 5 of us were out last Autumn and got weeded out. It was getting close to pack up & go home time, and sat on my seatbox, I saw the rod tip going down, and thought "Ah, fish at last". Before I could grab the Rod, the lot went over - Tripod & both rods. Bleddy great clump of weed that was a nightmare to haul in & untangle.
