Hi all.
I have spent some long hours on the Jurassic Coast in recent weeks trying to tempt one of the coolest species in UK waters, the black bream.
It's at this time of year that the bigger fish tend to move within casting distance, although this is often dictated by the weather; calmer weather can often mean that the bream breed twice, and arrive slightly later, as they hang around their nests protecting their eggs.
I can only assume that this has been the case this year, as I have struggled to tempt one on 3 different occassions.
That said, I have really enjoyed the trips, star gazing and luring at night, whilst landing a few different species during daylight.
Here's a recent video that I have put together, with a few tips on targeting bigger bream. I'd planned to hold fire until I had hit my target, but severe neck and back pain probably means I am out of action for a few weeks.
