went out again tonight with confidence .... weather window where i thought they would tuck inshore after a couple tides of offshore winds like often happens .. and for another few days can't get out around any decent fishing time and then harsh onshore winds after.so no good for here this time of year ...
so with the high chance of showers I took the risk and slung out a whole squid 1st bait out about an hour before high ...

left them both out for about 30 40mins to be fair because no weed or bites and then bang bang slack reeled into it and ray on
.. pumped in thinking was big ... side strain needed at.the end as it used tide towards breakwater .
turned out to be a small one like they do hugging bottom can't tell sometimes !! little female ..well pleased as I reckon they be inshore now till spring ..swam off nicely lip hooked
no other fish at all had one other little bite ..whiting moved off by looks of it

was still half light but looks night in pic ...good sign as usually wouldn't bother till well after dark

yeah was a nice sunset light winds about 8c lovely .. and yeah was glad whiting had gone though to be fair m8 as was able to leave a bait out there for a while for ray to settle over it ....
slowest time of year round here ...almost felt like spring today though !

Well done on the thornback

Top angling, just goes to show that water craft/knowledge is the key to success ?.
Tight lines.

Well done pal, good to sneak one out before the cold snap returns

my mate went to the same spot last night had 2 ray bites didn't connect though ...told him it's coz he was shit lol ?

anyway north Kent coast looks like they are in inshore if helps any one

Great report and pictures well done.

thought I'd just do an update here rather than new report ...
so went down the same spot near me again not full of confidence given the cold spell and small tides but fancied a go and tide was a good time for me today about 530 ... done only 2 and half hours no bites at all nice evening and sunset though .

might have a go tomo again as meant to be 14 degree and sun ...

also little catch report from Tuesday..beware a carp is included haha ... had my daughter needed to get her out for a bit so thought about one my club lakes is a few lakes there and one is mega easy even in winter which I thought great for her as wouldnt be there long ..not where I would usually go myself though haha ...

anyway main idea was to use the lakes for a walk more than anything as very secluded nice walk ... packed a small float rod pre rigged and tin of corn..
got there and chucked a handful of corn into a couple of reed beds and went for a walk through woods ...
got back asked her if she still fancied a cast coz we were both soaked by this point ...bless her at 6 she still said yes so plopped float on the handful I put in an hour ago and expecting the worst that the fish still be dormant but 30 seconds in float slides under good scrap on 5lbs line and a 8lbs common comes in!!

job done we went home so about 5 mins including playing it in and we were off home haha
