Evening all,

A couple of weeks ago I went to my local north Kent bass mark, only to realise that my beloved bass had moved off, but I was treated by a surprise ray.

Anyway, I travelled back to the venue on Thursday night but to a slightly different spot about half a mile east - target species being rays now thinking the bass has moved on!

I prepared an incredibly long and beautiful looking fillet of bluey, walked out 200 yards to the quickly oncoming tide then Lobbed it out as far as I can into the shallows.

Well 30 minutes later a slack line appeared and then after a lot of winding in so did this bass! About 40cm and a very nice start to the evening on the first cast. After that it was whiting as expected.

Cant believe it’s nearly December and bass are still sniffing about in our neck of the woods.

Until next time

Alan

Well done on the spiky.
The seas are still warm, bass will probably be there all year.

With only a couple of months until they start breeding I'd have thought they'd have moved off to deeper water by now. Well done finding one. So next trip is for bass, get the skinning plyers ready!
