After a bit of discussion and after the storms we were itching to get out , so myself bananas,Tatunkajoe and rock marks met up at a local beach .
It was a cold night but it started well with dog fish coming in straight away .

Then we had a bit of a lull we were getting bites but not hooking anything, then I got a conger for my spieces hunt .8785F053-1A31-4AF1-8B12-29BB34545396.jpeg
Only small but they all count , after more dogs I packed up about 22.30 for a nightmare journey home with the A38 shut and a long diversion I didn’t get home until midnight,
But I missed the excitement of the evening,
To follow by Bananas ???

It started of well, with the us all catching the Dogfish, then as john said it died off for a good while and only seemed to pick up as John was packing up:LOL::LOL:.
Just a few minutes after John had packed up and disappeared to the car park, Martyn, Paul and Bert came over for a chat, watching the tips as we talked, one rod was getting a few small taps that went a bit better, I left it a bit then pulled in to a better feeling fish, a few shakes on the way in told us it wasn't a doggie and through the surf we could see a ray, Paul went down and grabbed it as a wave brought it on to the sand, cheers mate(y)(y), in the lights we could see he was just lightly lipped hooked so was lucky getting him in.
Some pics and time for the scales, 5.11lb it went, a nice fish for my last casts of the night, with him back and swimming away, the other rod was nodding with another Dogfish on him. Was good to get out after the last lot a storms and to catch up with every one and Bert too, plus good to land a few fish even if most was doggies.

We get a run of se early every year but it’s been getting earlier used to be April we’d start seeing them but I know of a double that come off that beach last week they peek in may when they come into spawn plus the commercials haven’t had a chance to get out which means the fish have been able to move inshore I whould fish for nothing but them but without sandeel there’s very little Point it’s king fir them down here but can’t find hardly any ?
