So looking at the tides this week it had occurred to me with the times I’d have to do a late night to early morning assault spoke to a mate who was keen orso spoke to @chesilpete to see if he was about and he was so after me wife got back from Exeter half cut at 9.00 pm I made my way up to the big beach armed with 30 peeler and some ropey rag me and burt hurried down the path to catch the first of the flood bumped into pete who was just setting up then saw my mate who had set up 1/4 of a mile west of pete and Ben ( some peeps don’t listen .
Anyhoo walked down to him and got me rods out conditions were perfect it had been blowing fair all week but had died off tonight but of weed in the water and plenty of Colour first fish for me was a pout off the mark I guess then mate had a dog the. Then hounds arrived bang on low we had a hectic 1 hr an a half were I landed 3 dropped two and my mate had 2 and a nice 3 lb table bass no real size to the hounds all sub 5 lb but good fun .
Dureing a bit of a lull I made my way up to see pete and nick a light as if forget in my lighter ??Luckily he had a spare they were haveing a busy sesh like us so went back and began fishing again steady but still fish dogs straps and pout I managed a nice bass a dawn around the 2&1/2 lb mark but had orso snagged a few spider crabs ? ? then as we were getting treated to a lovely chisel sunrise the hounds rocked up for round 2 bigger this upto 7 lbs great fun for an hr orso decided to call time around 5.30 so plenty of fish chuffed to get me hounds and another bass doing well on em this year did try fo sole and rays but no joy fishings good for me this year thought I’d be struggling with arfter Norway but still love it the hound bought my species tally to 20 that’s with out going ultra light and the summer species are about to rock up chould I hit 30 ???comp next week on home turf so need to do well on that one cheers ma butesEB1A8849-F3EF-4C79-A76C-E3B8CEB2156F.jpeg3C7C53B8-1840-47AB-9760-8E3A2ACCE46F.jpeg0825E3B8-8DC5-4317-A5A2-9145975DB117.jpeg95172033-78FC-4ABE-9673-B2EA384F046F.jpegthe Worst double shot ever nightmare inducing ????????????

Nice report & Photos as always Tats - Burt looks like he going to grab that Hound any second! Tight lines! ????

Great to see you n Bert, it was a busy old night, I stuck at it for sole but the bstard spiders made it tough and I didn't get any.
What an beautiful night to be on Chesil......
Still payback time is coming, I noticed on some of the crab legs that Ted removed they are starting to get ready to peel already, there are a shed load of smuts on Chesil this year the spiders are in for a tough time!.

I would add I reckon Chesil is going to go off massively, in the last week the summer species have started to turn up, black n red bream, quite a few codling, three species of gurnards, loads of smuts, double figure bags of plaice, some clonking sole and a sprinkling of half decent bass.....
Now if those spiders kick off peeling its going to explode, I bloody love Chesil.

comp next week on home turf so need to do well on that one cheers ma butes
Tonight would have been perfect.Sat outside the lodge after the sun went down slight breeze ideal conditions but I was knackered.Up at 4.30 left at 6.00 and then 4 1/2 drive down here.Went straight to Tesco Seaton for a bit of shopping and a Costa.Soon as I started the coffee Hawkchurch rang and said the lodge was ready so we were in by 12.30.That's the third time we've been in early.(y)Hope you catch a bundle.

I fished last night took nephew and daughter so wasn’t really putting the effort in beach was rammed but tried hard for macs on pop ups and had the kids working the dexters it was slow as feck did drop 2 hounds and managed a pup but nothing else didn’t try for bass but did look bassy I recon if your gonna go Sunday looks good for it mate ?
