Are you allowed to fish the east arm nowadays?

So I’m guessing you can and to fish towards tide mills or off the end? Why would you fish in the boat channel anyway?
I’ve never fished it myself to be honest but the east side seems quite a trek for the potential advantage gained.

I never fish the river side, way back when; I used to fish the seaward side.

I was aiming that comment at the cause for complaints from the Harbour Board.
Is it laziness or cluelessness from the wannabe fisherfolk?
