With my mates heading bc sunday morning early and me ment to be working Sunday decided to try a new Mark at branscome in sat night ht was at 9.30 pm so rafter driving back from corffe castle with the wife and kids ( love that place stunning ) and a stop off at west bay tackle for squid Mac and some sandeels me and Burt made are way down to the beach being a member of local club means I get to park for £3 all night wereas it usally costs £7 . ta fair walk left to a area that has a patch of sand surrounded by snaggy rocks sea was chocolate in Colourwith hardly any wind and the sun was out perfect had my Mac and squid baits in the water about an hr before the flood I was useing rotten bottoms on pulleys just in case I hit the wrong area and a 50 yard cast was all that was needed any more or less I’d be in the snags . Burt decided to go an bother a couple of quite attractive lesbians who were on a evening stroll ?good boy Burt . then I had my first bite of the evening and landed a modest jet black strap good sign ten minutes later a had my pb 3 beard rockling a greedy little beggar who was lip hooked on a 4/0 Viking shortly arfter that I missed a saveage bite that was either a decent Congar or Huss but I missed wotever it was then dead on low I snagged a dog getting dark and my spirts high cause of the way the sesh had started I was looking forward to a steady stream of Huss Congars and maybe a bass but nothing my baits were being destroyed in minutes by sea lice weather a whole squid or half a Mac the bastards were cleaning my hooks in mins with often just the spine of the Mac remaining no matter how much elastic I put on the soda were scoffing the bait before the fish choirs get to them I’ve had this before at branscome and knew I was beat so packed up and called it a night . Spoke to a couple of lads who were fishing a comp in the way back they were hoping for hounds I said they usally turnup an hrs before ht but more likely to get a specimen dog than hound there . So shame about the lice but like the new Mark only lost 2 leads and feel there’s some decent fish to be had there I’ll return soon but off arfter se ray next week haven’t had one this year yet usally in double figures for them but now let’s hope this bit of sun helps cheers ma butes 4004C2D5-270C-4C5B-A47D-40EA2106563D.jpegECE30767-A901-4158-8CCE-1484CCB57F7B.jpeg82865B6C-1468-4928-882F-CC7CF35CC390.jpeg

Well done on a new pb ?

How long before your aloud out mate ??
Well, they said day to day stuff and a bit of walking is okay, but nothing too strenuous.

I’m guessing hiking along beaches with kit or climbing down rock marks would be considered a bit too much?

And I’m not a fan of fish out of the car or easy access marks, too many noddies and people asking if you’ve caught anything yet ?

Maybe one of the bass beaches wouldn’t be TOO bad...

Yeah, but then you will go and hook a monster!

Great report Tank. Well done for sticking it out. Lice are a $odding pain. Caught a Sea Trout once that was riddled in the feckers, he went back sharpish.

Next time just dispatch the fish mate better to go quickly remember once when fishing branscome and the plaice was littered with lice my mate bought in a dog and they had eaten it from the inside out when he lifted it up they fell from its eyes and mouth it was like a horror movie ?????
